2 cops shot as SWAT team guns down suspect


A pair of California cops were shot Wednesday while trying to contact a suspect in the traffic stop shooting of a sheriff’s deputy.

The unidentified San Bernardino officers responded to a location where the department’s SWAT team was trying to corral the suspect in the Tuesday shooting, officials said in a press release posted to Facebook.

The two cops were hit by bullets as the wanted man opened fire. The unnamed suspect was also shot and killed, police said.

The officers were being treated at the hospital in unknown condition, according to the post.

The sheriff’s deputy was expected to recover, but his assailant remains at large, The Los Angeles Times reported.
