If you just finished enjoying the fun sophomore season of Never Have I Ever, good news! Netflix has more episodes heading to your screen, the streamer announced at their TCA panel today. Mindy Kaling‘s hit comedy series has been renewed for a third season on the platform, with more coming-of-age angst with Devi, Paxton, and Ben on the way soon.
Never Have I Ever follows Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), a high school girl who must navigate her complex crushes, friendships, and familial relationships while mourning the loss of her father. In the most recent season of the series, Devi continued to mature her at-home relationships while fostering new romantic ones at school — but what will come of those in Season 3?
“We are so grateful to Netflix and Universal Television for letting us continue to tell this story, and to the fans around the world who clamored to see more of this badly behaved Indian teenager,” co-creators Kaling and Lang Fisher said in a statement provided to Decider.
Along with Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, returning cast includes Poorna Jagannathan as her mother Nalini, Richa Moorjani as cousin Kamala, Jaren Lewison as Ben, Darren Barnet as Paxton, as well as Lee Rodriguez and Ramona Young as Devi’s friends Fabiola and Eleanor. Former professional tennis player John McEnroe is also set to return as the show’s narrator.
The series is co-created by Kaling and Fisher, who also serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The project, which is helmed by Universal Television, is also executive produced by 3 Arts Entertainment’s Howard Klein and David Miner.
Both seasons of Never Have I Ever sit above a 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, a solid indicator that the series has a good chance of continuing for quite a bit with Netflix. In Decider’s round-up of top July TV series, Never Have I Ever nabbed the fifth slot.
