Purported Taliban fighters ride bumper cars in Afghanistan, video shows

A group of purported Taliban fighters frolicked at an amusement park in Afghanistan riding bumper cars and a merry-go-round, according to video posted online Monday — after the militant organization overran the country.

The footage showed the alleged Taliban fighters at an entertainment site in the city of Herat, which the Islamic group captured Thursday as it overtook Afghanistan after a US pullout, reports said.

French news outlet Mediavenir shared the 30-second video clip, identifying the men — including one who rode in a gold bumper car while holding what appeared to be a long gun — as militants.

An onlooker can be heard laughing loudly as the suspected Taliban members ride together alongside several others, including children.

A photo of the same scene appeared online Friday, according to Storyful.

The men seen in the video have not been confirmed to be Taliban fighters.

Video shows alleged Taliban insurgents playing with a bumper car attraction in Herat, Afghanistan.

“Herat city amusement park, Taliban having fun,” one tweet from Friday read.

A person replied, “Is this OK with Allah?”

Herat, Afghanistan’s third-largest city, fell to the Taliban days before the militants took control of Kabul on Sunday, following President Ashraf Ghani’s decision to flee the country.
