This week, the weather is hot but the movies and shows streaming on your favorite platforms are even hotter, and it’s largely thanks to the wonderful women putting in the work both in front of and behind the camera. This Woman Crush Wednesday seeks to highlight one of those incredible ladies by celebrating an awesome up-and-coming actress who should be on your radar ASAP. You’re going to be seeing a lot more of her in the years to come, so make sure to remember her name. Without further ado, give it up for this week’s WCW, the hardworking and talented Hannah Levien!

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Levien plays the recurring character Christine in upcoming Netflix Original horror drama  Brand New Cherry Flavor, which premieres on the platform this Friday, August 13th. The eight-episode limited series revolves around Lisa Nova (Rosa Salazar), who comes to Los Angeles determined to direct her first movie. But when she trusts the wrong person and gets stabbed in the back, everything goes wrong, and a dream project turns into an absolute nightmare that includes zombies, hit men, supernatural kittens, and a mysterious tattoo artist who likes to put curses on people (you know, all your classic nightmare fare). Lisa’s going to have to figure out some secrets from her own past in order to get out alive, and we honestly can’t wait to see it all go down.

In addition to Levien and Salazar, Brand New Cherry Flavor stars Catherine Keener, Jeff Ward, Eric Lange, and Manny Jacinto. The show is already receiving plenty of positive buzz and ink from publications like The A.V. ClubIGNIndieWire, and us here at Decider, so make sure to see what all of the hype is about by checking out Levien and the rest of the amazing cast and crew’s work in Brand New Cherry Flavor as soon as it hits Netflix this week.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Levien’s professional onscreen career began in 2006 with the role of Holly Willis in comedy film Sweet FA. Over the next several years she began steadily building up a list of diverse credits in short films like 2007 drama DisPretty, 2008 comedy-drama Thirty Second Love, 2011 comedy The Later Guests, 2012 family comedy Keys, and 2015 sci-fi drama New Earth on the Barrens, as well as in feature films like 2008 crime-thriller The Horseman, 2012 horror-thriller Children of Sorrow, 2014 action adventure-comedy Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark, and 2015 horror drama-thriller Blood Brothers, and in TV shows like The Ghost SpeaksSupernaturalBackstromThe Returned, and Bates Motel.

Levien’s big break into a recurring mainstream role came in 2016, when she began playing Victoria in Syfy fantasy mystery series The Magicians, on which she acted until 2018. From there, the actress only continued to put in excellent work across the board, from TV movies like 2018 thriller The Wrong Patient and 2019 romantic-comedy The Dating List, to shows like ColonyReverieUnREALSirenPicture Perfect Mysteries, and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Clearly, Levien is a talented actress who only continues to grow and foster both her diverse filmography and acting skills with each year, and we are looking forward to the long and successful career that she has ahead of her.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: While we are not currently sure what is next for Levien role-wise, you can at least keep up to date with the latest on the actress by following her on Twitter and Instagram. Don’t miss a moment from your laudable WCW, Hannah Levien!
