A federal judge on Friday allowed the Biden administration's new eviction moratorium to remain in place, amid a legal challenge by the housing industry.
U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich said the ban implemented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention could continue because it was strikingly similar to an earlier version that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled could stay in force.
The decision was a loss for local chapters of the National Association of Realtors, who filed a motion to block the ban after the CDC ordered it last week.
